Wordspills.
About: A wordspill is a new type of piece emerging. It's main purpose is to provide a creative way to cure writers' block. It's a fairly new technique, but most authors who have tried it have seen it as very effective.
How: open whatever text editor you use, such as Microsoft Word or Notepad. Then, set the font color to be equal with the background color (this is usually white for most editors) so that you won't see what you have written. Then, you write for about 10 minutes (unless you get really into it and you need more time) in a relaxed, quiet atmosphere without distractions. Just let the words flow, write about anything and everything, whatever's is floating around in your brain. Then, once you're done, change the font color back to normal and re-read what you've written. The idea is to keep away the pesky self-editor that dwells within us and often over criticizes too harshly and may be a huge factor in your writers' block. You go back and edit spelling and grammar mistakes and, hopefully, you end up with a piece that you like, even if it's short or not your usual style. And if you like, you can post them on this thread.
