You came stumbling into the frame,
A curious look in your eyes.
Your sweet touch was laced with the sins of a much older man's life.
And you sang sweet sorrow through yellowing teeth,
Heavy breaths fill the empty spaces,
Between the words of blue and gray.
I watched your shadow cascade across the off-white wall,
And whiskey nightmares are only as imminent as you make them.
The faded breaths of ink on my cheek were silent,
I want to be what you need.
Your eyes leaked in midnight moons
And I blurred my eyes to make it alright.
