Sometimes
The universe has a way of evening things out.
What goes up must come down, and (it seems) what goes down also tends to go back up.
Today began terribly. I'm glad I've never been someone whose first impressions stuck.
I was running on minimum three hours sleep, in horrendous pain (head and back) and late.
Somehow, I managed to make the train - and the bus, and a tirp to the store for some coke.
2/3 of my first class was missing. I spent it with 7 other people, joking and laughing and did not get made fun of once.
I got my performance review back from my teacher complimenting me on my singing voice - I wasn't even singing for the performance. I was playing guitar. he just wanted me to know he thought I could go somewhere.
Class ended early. I went home and had a nap. Got there just in time for the second class.
Aced two tests. Made the whole class laugh. Got flirted with by a really, really attractive guy. Yeah, not interested, but it's always nice to feel wanted.
Aced my scales performance assessment.
Got asked by a couple of people in my class to switch into their band for term two.
Got let out early.
It wasn't a miracle, but the little victories make the bigger defeats easier to bear.
Thankyou, universe/whatever else is out there. Big, big thankyou.
