Re: Tattoos
I got another one today, had to sit for 3 hours straight and there's still another hour on it to go, but the guy had to stop because my body started rejecting the ink after 3 hours
Will put up pics of the stages when I get them from the guy, it's on my left shoulderblade and for obvious reasons I can't manouveur [spelling?] my arms around to get pics
Peace out, Aerin.

Re: Tattoos
thats awful D: but wonderful that you got another one. I love tattoos!
I'm getting one very very soon, on the inside of my lip. It's going to say "THICK AS THIEVES". It's kind of a long, drawn-out explanation.

Re: Tattoos
Why ~HULLO there Mikey
Ah yes, the infamous tattoo which caused a massive FB thread
Well my tattoo is finally finished now, just waiting for the guy to put up some photos of it.
And because of this one, I've basically got my entire upper body plan done, with another 4 pieces already organised and ready to go, as well as a cover up of another tattoo I already had

Re: Tattoos
the one that's posted on here before hand, the one running down my wrist.
ALSO, I'm getting something done on my leg with a similar motive to yours. I's getting 6 manacles on the leg, one with the Zebrahead logo on it and the other 5 for the band members, as a sort of ode to them for the 10 or so years I've bene listening to them
And it is a lot yes, but I get all this for free as my dad does it

I love tattoos. Except, I'm not allowed to get any. My parents are mean about it. ) :
Gah. I see tattoos and I practically cry because I can't get on.

Re: Tattoos
Wait, I assume you are not from the UK or your age on here is false, because you have to be 18 at least to get someone to do a tattoo on you
That's a good idea though, however be warned, the person who does it might suggest some changes to it, to try and make the design more unique to you.
Re: Tattoos
^ In Canada--where we're both from--you can get a tattoo if you're under 18 if you have a parent's/guardian's permission.
I'm going to assume it's mostly the same across the country at least.

Re: Tattoos
Am I the only person who strongly recommends you don't get tattooed before your legal?
If you get it while you're still going through puberty, it will most likely stretch and distort as you grow.
A classmate got a butterfly at fourteen, two years later she can't even tell what it is anymore.

Re: Tattoos
I'm nearly seventeen though. Which is only a year away from being legal. And while I'm not allowed to get a tattoo, I'm going to find a way to get around my parents.
But I'm pretty much done with puberty. I mean, I'm not growing anymore. Not really.
But I do understand what you mean. Especially with people getting inked younger and younger.

I understand that you are at an age in which it seems suitable, although I personally would say it is better to be safe than it is to be sorry. Also parenal consent shouldn't be an issue and with it you will probably get no qualms from the tattooist themself.
Yeah, as pointed out before it's a silly idea getting tattooed at the age when puberty really starts tokick in, it's cool at the time but you're then looking out at forking several hundred/thousand [insert currency here] to either get it touched up or get laser removal, which is even mroe expensive due to the fact you need at least 5-10 sessions to get anywhere :/

Re: Tattoos
I want a tattoo.
I'm starting to plan out some of them so that I can get them once I'm legal.
I'm trying to design a chest piece but I'm not 100% sure what I want.
I either want a sparrow in the center with leaves curling around the sides.
Or the lyrics 'As autumn's wind fades into black' with leaves on either side of the words.
Not sure though.
I want something to represent Autumn because that is my favourite time of the year and yeah...I look forward to it all the time.
My mom says she'll practically disown me if I get a chest tattoo though...
On another note, this kid at my school got an amazing tattoo done the other week and I love it.
It's seriously the best tattoo I've ever seen on an underage kid.
It's an elephant and then two flowers and it's just amazing.
I wish I had a picture of it...but that would be creeperish.

Re: Tattoos
so, i've decided on my first and second and third tattoos...only i only know where one of them will be.
the first one (as i've probably mentioned before but i'm too lazy to look) is going to be my family's chop, which basically means the chinese character that represents my family's name. i know i don't look chinese, but i am - a quarter chinese, actually - and my family name that isn't actually my current legal name is what i want to get on me. somewhere.
the second one i want is all of my cousins' names (i have seven of them) in their own handwriting. on my back, the symbolism for which is that i know they've always got my back. but i also want my two brothers' names and my name as well, which will represent feeling like we're all a family. this one may actually be more important than ^. but i'm waiting on this one for awhile (i mean, i'm still only seventeen, but i might wait awhile after anyway) because i'm kind of at odds with one of my brothers at the moment...=\
and the third tattoo i want is a set of quotation marks, which represents my writing. probably over or beside a vein. on my right arm, most likely.

Re: Tattoos
I think my first tattoo is going to be the word "grub".
Or the hookah smoking grub thingy from the Alice in wonderland movie.
Grub's been my dad's nickname for me since before I can remember and I really want my first one to be meaningful, but also a bit cryptic to those who don't know why.

Re: Tattoos
^yeah, that is really, really beautiful.

I think, if i was ever to get something tattooed, it would be 'a life deliberate' or 'unbreakable' on my wrists somewhere. Both are a reference to Christopher Gutierrez, and how much he has influenced my life in such a positive manner.

Re: Tattoos
Hummm. Unfortunately, I asked an artist and they said that THICK AS THIEVES would be too many words to fit on my lip. Apparently my mouth is too small. So I'm getting a caffeine molecule, instead (:
also, the words 'streetlight people', but I don't know where yet. Soon. I've got confirmation that both my parents will sign off on it, I just need to work out where they'll go.
Originally I wanted them on my hip, purely because I couldn't think of another place that wasn't too visible (like wrists, outer arm, etc). But I've always been wary of anything on my hips, stomach, etc. I don't know why, I guess it's just an intimacy thing. Plus, it doesn't seem to.. idk, 'fit' with that area. That's the only way I can think to say it. Like, it doesn't relate to that area at all; it's not private or intimate, I just don't want it to be cliche. (Well, as far from cliched as lyric tattoos can get.)
So now, I'm thinking one word on the back of each arm, just above the elbow. Should I fail at life and have to get an office job, it wouldn't be hard to cover them up (most shirts finish below the elbow) and if worst came to worst, they'd be small enough to cover with bandaids.
And as for regret... idk, regret is something I guess I think about a lot, when people get tattoos. Two people I know just got them and I think they're in the most undesirable places (though I totally respect the ideas and why they got them) and I've been wondering if they're going to dislike them, later in life. I want all aspects of this tattoo to be perfect, because I know I won't regret the idea, just how it's executed.
So, ideas?
And just so we all know, don't suggest a sleeve. D. N. W. they look fine on other people but I don't want my skin covered with ink for the rest of my life just for the sake of it and I don't have enough things that are important to me that I'd want on my arm forever.

Re: Tattoos
Hm. Above the elbows is a good place to get them. Perhaps somewhere like one of the shoulderblades?
I's getting another tattoo to go over the one I had done firstly, because it was a shoddy job and the ink's running out already, which shouldn't be happening for about 6 years or so. Tattoo number 3 will be some graffiti on the arm, inspired by banksy.

Re: Tattoos
I'm allowed to get a tattoo as long as I design one for my mother.
As of now, I have a design loosely picked out for mine...I just have to re-draw it and change some colours.
It's going to be three leaves, in Autumn colours, with the lyrics "As autumn's wind fades into black" and the leaves will kinda curl around the lyrics.
I'm kinda excited.
And all I have to do is design a tattoo that involves a maple leaf for my mama.
