Lonely.
- Posted a while ago on my now discontinued blog.
When all is said and done,
emptiness prevails,
Over your lonely existence.
Nothing to do, nothing to say,
The world is silent, as it comes to realise,
The confrontation is over.
Gone are the old times,
Laugh. Ha he hee,
But you laugh no more.
For there is no one to laugh at.
Those funny catchphrases are just a memory,
Slipping away from sight,
As they sink slowly into non-existence.
The wind is always howling,
As though it is a dog left out in a storm,
But it is the storm itself.
The sun never shines on your day,
As you walk, drenched to the bone,
In no particular direction.
Gone is the enthusiastic chatter,
Now all you hear are the murmurs in your mind,
Your own thoughts are your only comfort.
If you accidentally let a single word splutter from your frostbitten lips,
You scold and punish yourself,
For what good are your words, with no one to hear them?
Your eyes are a window to your soul,
An empty space in yourself,
For yours is a lonely existence.
It would have been different,
It could have been different,
If they had not abandoned you.

Re: Lonely.
That is...scary. To think about, I mean. Like, its pretty haunting images. The coldness, blue colors and stuff. And obv, the title fits fer serious.
I like this part:
Gone is the enthusiastic chatter,
Now all you hear are the murmurs in your mind,
Your own thoughts are your only comfort.
If you accidentally let a single word splutter from your frostbitten lips,
You scold and punish yourself,
For what good are your words, with no one to hear them?
That plus the part about "no one to laugh at". It makes me think of a fallen cheerleader or something. From hot glitter-pink to frosbite grey-blue. If that makes sense.
Me likey.
you get an A.
