Forever, pt. i

You are the epitome of bliss and sheer joy, relishing in the given moment.

The night is young, the breeze is wild and sweet, and the buzz of conversation and faint music in the background has set the pace for what would be a fun, carefree evening.

Life absolutely cannot be better than this.

You are innocently walking through the crowd of all made up strangers, acquaintances and friends, greeting each familiar face with an earnest smile, when you turn your gaze to one side and just stop.

There is no warning or explanation for your sudden pause, as you just halt directly in your tracks. you just do. The grin is wiped from your mouth by the ever so subtle jaw drop, and for nearly ten seconds in your tiny trapped universe the blood had frozen in your veins and your limbs seemed utterly incapable of moving. The gears and shifts of your mind got stuck in the process of thinking and whoever said you couldn't kill yourself by holding your breath may have been proven wrong, because if it went on any longer you surely would have collapsed.

All you can do is stare.

Because he was right there.

And you thought you didn't care.

Forever, pt. ii

You were faced with that oh-so familiar back, all expanse and broad shoulders, and you get over the astonishment long enough to walk about three steps up to him and nudge him slightly with an elbow.

"Hey." Bravo, you managed to keep the tremor out of your voice.

He turns his head slightly and there was an invisible grin that accompanied his reply of, "Oh. hey." You both knew you couldn't do anything else.

You nod and move on with a flick of your hair, his voice still ringing in your mind, and only then do you become aware of the incessant loudness of your heart, beating five times faster than normal.
