Just watched a neighboring child ride his bike successfully for the first time.
His parents beamed and his dog barked and licked him.
I remember the first time I rode my bike successfully.
I went in a treble clef sort of shape.
Then I kept picking up the trash that lined the side of the street
A large, empty bottle of vodka was all of the sudden right in front of me.
I came inside and my house smelt like my great aunt Lil’s used to before she had a stroke and we sold her house because she moved into assisted living.
I still remember the time-warp of a house and the little porcelain figurines that lined her shelves.
And her favorite chocolate was Godiva and we’d visit her every Christmas because even Ebenezer doesn’t deserve to spend Christmas alone.
And now I’m looking around the house at all the Easter decorations remembering the Easter when I watched the Rugrats movie and ate candy bunnies with my brother.
And all of this is somehow relevant to something, but it eludes me entirely.
Oh, Life and her mysteries, won’t a torch be cast on the darkened secrets?
The same question shines through all of everything:
What exactly is the meaning of life?
