Counting down the hours, but I haven't got the time...
I'm reading Ryan's old livejournal. I have most of it memorised; I don't know why I bother reading it at all. I've dissected it over and over more times than I can count. I don't know what number this is. Although I know the first time was with you. Which makes it somehow okay when he talks about her like she's something special.
This isn't actually a depressing journal.
I am trying to work out who or what the fuck I am. It's not working too well but I figure that's okay. I mean. I may as well have fun finding out, right?
I never could take the important things seriously.
I can't write right now. I'm angry at garage song and that one that has no name for coming so easily. It's like someone's stoppered my brain and the scent of what's within is leaking out, taunting me, but my fingers aren't deft enough to prise the cork free and release the actual content. Everything is fragmented. I speak all the wrong words at the right times and everything is like looking through broken glass, broken mirrors. Maybe this is what the world would be like underwater.
Don't you hate when you find out the lyrics to the soundtrack of your childhood and realise that the songs you used to love aren't... quite how you remembered them?
I get so nostalgic when I hear certain music. Not two-years-ago-discovering-emo-music nostalgic. More like back when it was still a socially unacceptable thing for an eight year old's favourite band to be Green Day (Mine was) and when your parents used to lie to you about the lyrics of your favourite songs because they weren't appropriate (or was that just my mum?) kind of nostalgic.
Here, have a list (in no particular order) of songs that remind me of the childhood I'm not sure if I miss. You should post some of yours, too
I Think I'm Paranoid - Garbage
Leaving Home - Jebadiah
Semi-Charmed Kind Of Life - Third Eye Blind
Kryptonite - Three Doors Down
Linger - The Cranberries
Any Powderfinger off Odyssey #5
Any Green Day off Warning or Nimrod
Any The Living End off Roll On or The Living End
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Jebadiah are fucking amazing. Brilliant Perth punk band and one of the first to reach real national/international success. They still do so much for the Perth scene; helping out younger acts, playing free festivals. They've always been perth-based and it was always about music and never success.
Here, have a video.
That's my city, right there.
I think maybe sleep will do me good. Two weeks of holidays, thank god. I can sleep all day for three or four fucking days to make up for the sleep I HAVEN'T gotten in the last three or four weeks. Actually more like nearly two months.
I don't know the point of this. Lets leave it here

OH MY GOD AVRIL LAVIGNE. I had the biggest crush on her. She was the first concert I went to. Although I count The Living End as my first 'real' concert because that was the first time I was in a mosh pit.
And lol, dude. Everyone is a dork when they're a kid

WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF WE WERE OLDER~
You guys should see this picture I drew. It's epic.
It's a human heart, and this one big vein comes up off it and makes it into a musical note and then it turns back into more veins. it's omg cool.

I'M BLUE BA DA DE BA DA DI.

For a serious song: Hallelujah (the Rufus Wainright version)
Heard it on the Shrek soundtrack when I was in first grade.
Been with me ever since.

OH MY GOD MEG.
YES.
I SO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
Re: Counting down the hours, but I haven't got the time...
Reetuh, I can't x_x I haz no scanner. I'll draw another one and ink it this time, and then I can take picture of it with my webcam.
I can't listen to Hallelujah any more >_< it was pretty much my suicide song and once I got out of that stage I just... couldn't hear it. My music teacher played a couple of verses in class and I was sitting there shaking.
But omg I remember that. And then there was that ~controversy. Was it dabadee dabadie, or if I was green I would die? lololol
And, do you guys remember... was it The Logical Song? By Scooter? Omg.
And, have y'all heard of Eskimo Joe? Another big Perth band. They've gone all ~srs business and LOL BLACK FINGERNAILS RED WINE now, but their first demos were amazing.
Seriously, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS. WE ARE NO LONGER FRIENDS IF YOU DON'T.
It makes me think of Ryan Ross. Cause he's all OMG THIS SWEATER IS UGLY. And then later he's like OMG NOW I LIKES IT.
It's live; I don't think they did a video? But lol, there's a story behind that set. On the single, they didn't have pictures of them - they had these three, middle aged guys in ugly sweaters. So, when the ABC went to make the set for them to perform on, they used the album artwork, not realising that it wasn't Eskimo Joe on there.
And then they showed up to play and everyone was like '...Who the fuck are you?'
Lmfao.
Oh, and THIS TOO.
"One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies. Fucking love that song.
I used to know EVERY WORD OFF BY HEART.

And, Mikey, a classmate and I debated the lyrics for an entire period.
