You know those movies you see where you come away changed? This is one of them. It's definitely one of my favourite films.
This is NOT as violent as the trailer makes it out to be, but I have to warn you - it contains rape, incest, drug use, teen pregnancy, eating disorders, violence, and obviously suicide. That didn't do much to defend my case, but believe me - even if some of this stuff irks you, this is a must-see.
I've tried not to include spoilers for your benefit.
The movie begins at 2:37 pm, with the discovery of a student who has committed suicide inside a locked toilet. A teacher finds blood seeping out from under the door, and busts it open, but we don't find out who it is.
It then rewinds to the beginning of that day, and explores the lives of the six teenagers who might have done it during a 'normal' day of school.
There's the popular brat, the sports god, the 'special' kid, the prodigy, the druggie and that one girl who is just the nicest person you know. All of them have a secret that could be the reason they're inside the locked toilet.
The director was highly influenced by the film Elephant, so if you liked that you'll probably like this. It's beautiful and surreal and unbelievably clever in the way it unfolds, and if the discovery of who has killed themself doesn't get you, the following scenes will. I fucking bawled.
Honestly, this is a film I think everyone should see. Some of the scenes are pretty hardcore, so if you think something triggery is about to happen - it probably is, and you should turn away. But no matter how emotional it might get, stick it out til the ending.

Although it seems quite a bit like Elephant, I'm sure it's only the way the film is formatted.

The main thing that's similar about the two is the filming style. The way it shows different events from different characters 'points of view', etc.

I just started watching it.
The opening sequence was awesome
just the trees, and then the music and the fact that it so normal.

I remember seeing all the hubbub about this movie when it came out. I think I was too young to see it at the time, or they weren't showing it at our local cinema.

Lmao yeah, a couple of friends and I waited outsite the video store for like an hour, asking everyone who went past if they'd go in and buy it for us. FINALLY someone did. It wasn't great circumstances that I first saw it under, but it's just amazing.

I saw it on Friday, and boy...it's really heavy.
Like, I honestly was not expecting it to be the person who died. It surprised me, and it almost made me cry.
Although, I suggest you don't watch it on a happy occasion. It just brings you down.

I finally watched it!! 
The ending was brilliant, just so unexpected.
