26.5.09 - In Pursuit of the Cobra
Yesterday was like this:
All day.
Two minutes after I left the house I had to run back and get my batteries for my camera. Good start. Then we realised that my friend's mom had forgotten her phone and we weren't sure if my phone was working so there was a temporary moment of feeling really screwed. But then we made it all better with some KFC and we found out my phone was working. When we got to the venue the bouncers/band people wouldn't let us in ( ) so I missed my interview slot and the band went out for dinner. When I did get in (it was so awesome to see my name on the guestlist XD) this chick tried to sort it out and failed. Then one of the members of Sing It Loud helped me to find Cobra's tour manager and he got me my photo pass and let me do an interview with Alex Suarez (!). Despite the million times that my brain freaked out (OMGSITTINGNEXTTOSUAREASYOMGOMGOMG etc.) and I paused, the interview went smoothly for something like 13 minutes. We talked about parties in Vegas, a little bit about Pete Wentz, a tiny bit about their new album, my biological dad and his likeness to me, his music taste and at the end - sadly not caught on the voice recording - Suarez made a "that's what she said" joke.
I missed MiMi Soya due to doing the interview but got back in time for the start of Cash Cash's set. Which was awesome btw. I have no idea what they started with or what came in between but I know they ended with Party In Your Bedroom (or something along those lines) - anyone have their CD and want to sendspace it for me? :D
After Cash Cash was Sing It Loud. I've heard of them but never heard them and I was very, very surprised. They were MMMGood. Like poptarts. I would even compare them to the goodness of KFC. My friend Summer bought their album and got it signed by all the members. I'll scan it in later They were all very cute and one had a sweet 'fro going on.
Then was Cobra Starship. Gabe came out near the end of Sing It Loud's set and I got a picture with him though I'm not sure it turned out. I was kind of sad because he seemed like a little bit of a douche or maybe it was just the alcohol. Cobra started with The City Is At War. Pete Wentz Is The Only Reason We're Famous, Guilty Pleasure, Pleasure Ryland, The Church of Hot Addiction, Hey Mister DJ and others went in the middle/end bit - not in that order. This really nice girl next to the stage let me kneel in front of her so I could get decent pictures. Vicky T had that awesome sparkly make-up on and I think I managed to catch at least one decent shot of her face. Most of what Gabe was rambling on about is lost in the sea of my memory now but I do recall something about fucking faces in the crowd and "And we're like, 'I have no idea who the fuck that was but that was the best sex I've ever had!'" And screams from the female part of the crowd.
Question: Can you get the Cobra hoodies online? D: I wanttt one.
Er, pictures eventually. And a scan of Summer's signed Sing It Loud album and a picture of my new Sing It Loud t-shirt. So sweet.
