A near-perfect definition of IAR, coming from someone who's never been on the site

Hmm, come to think about it, this site you go to...it's really a blessing, when you come to think of it. I mean, you meet so many people out in the world and then you realize that they're not that different after all. And you find that no matter what, you always have some place to go to whenever you're feeling down about stuff you can't tell anyone else. I'm really glad you found this site, jan. It has really helped you a lot, hasn't it?

That, everybody, is why Janie is my bestest friend in the whole entire world. She's never been on the site (apart from the time I linked her to one of my confessions 'cause I couldn't bring myself to tell her outright about my cutting), and she doesn't like talking to random people online, but she gets it. She just gets it, she understands, pretty much everything I tell her.

IAR is indeed a blessing. The site is amazing, the people are amazing, and I just love the fact that it's small enough for everybody to at least know everybody else's names. We've seen the shit others have been through, and we've tried to help (whether we succeeded or not) -- but the important thing is, we try.

Honest to goodness, some of the most amazing people I know are members of this site, whether they're active or not. And the ones who are active, it's such a comfort seeing your posts everywhere. I head to Confessions straight away when I get online, even if I'm in a good mood, because that's where it all is. That's where you go to see if the people you care about are okay or not, and that's pretty much all that matters to me most of the time.

This site...is home.

Wait, scratch that. This site will be home when Mikey comes back. Everyone knows it's not the same without him here, but he needs to be away, and I respect that. I just hope he misses us as well, and will come back when he's ready. Then it'll be home again.

It's so good to know that a non-IARian gets all this. She knows how much you all mean to me.

Ikr? I guess when you talk on Confessions, it's sort of easier, 'cause you're talking to no one in general, and therefore it doesn't feel so much like you're being this sour little bitch. And it just gets things out, it's cathartic.
