BRATs!

Wow, I haven't updated in a while. Whoops.

So there's this journalism course fun-fun thing that I really want to join. The point of it's basically to expose teens to the world of journalism, including writing and videography and interviewing and stuff. I'm sorry, I know I'm not being very eloquent here, but I'm excited and not exactly very sure what happens there if I were to be honest, but anything to do with writing excites me and I am therefore, well, excited! It's a four-day-three-night thing with meals and accomodation included in the cost, which is a mere RM120. Um, to kind of give you a gauge of our currency, RM120 can get you...a good bottle of wine. Yeah. So it's ridiculously cheap.

And, from what I've read, it's not like everyone sits in a room and writes, photographs, and videos, but participants go romping around whichever state the course is at, learning about the history of the state as well, and doing group projects and stuff. Like I said, I don't know exactly what said projects are, but all the past participants' blogs I've read have nothing but good things to say and urge new faces to join.

I got the okay from my mom to try out for it this year, and I am SQUEEEEEING. I'm trying to get the March course, which is in Penang. Penang's a five-hour drive from my state. Anyway, I need to submit an essay on myself, under a thousand words, by the twentieth of this month. That's exactly a week from now, and the worry's starting to set in.

Whilst Googling, I came across the submission entry of a past participant, and, bloody hell, it was good. I'm not sure I can write like that, honestly. In order to stand out, my essay needs to be intelligent as well as interesting; I'm a bit of the former, but hardly the latter. So I'm just freaking out a weeeee bit right now.

IF ANYONE CAN THINK OF SOMETHING OSM TO WRITE ABOUT MYSELF IN THE ESSAY, NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO SAY IT PLZKTHXBAI.
