Signature Rule Changes.
So recently, we noticed some really big signatures appearing around the site. One of them almost filled up the entire length of my browser page, and for those who sometimes access IAR of their phones, huge signatures are really annoying.
Originally we said no sigs should be more than 400pxls in height, although that's way to much space, and the majorty of you have signatures that are not even 150pxls high.
From now on, the rule is changed to no more than 200pxl in height. Any sigs over that will be deleted.
We must also reinforce the rule that any image signatures must contain only text, not pictures, and no moving GIFS.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Signature Rule Changes.
How do we adjust the width of the page so we can view really long sigs?

^ Deleting a few toolbars could help? Or pressing F11.
Thanks for the heads up.

tbh. I think it depends on your monitor. Mikey said that it doesn't matter how long they are because the page can stretch, but I've never seen it stretch so I'm not sure. My monitor is widescreen though...

Re: Signature Rule Changes.
go to display settings and then change the resolution to around 1200 x 800 if possible.
Re: Signature Rule Changes.
Actually, I wouldn't reccoment changing your monitor's settings to anything that it didnt come with, purely because it blurs and looks ugly. Like a... bad jpeg image >_<
What I was trying to say to chels is that you pretty much can't do it. If you have, say, a 1024 by 768 screen resolution, things are gonna be much more squished up compared to, like polly said, 1200 by 800.
Its like looking at a picture through boxes with different sized holes >_>
If you're really desperate to see someone's signature, for rating threads and such:
on mozilla firefox, right click and select 'view image'.
On internet explorer (gag) right click, select properties and copypaste the image's url into your Navbar to see it in full
Although we are, now, contemplating a limit for width, as well.

Re: Signature Rule Changes.
1200 by 800 is only avaliable on widescreen laptops.
non widescreen are probably looking at 1024 x 768 but if it's larger, could be higher.
if it's too high, everything looks too small. too small, and my laptop looks wide and just awful, idk about anyone else's.

Re: Signature Rule Changes.
Mikey I think width limits are good too.
Tbh not being able to see half of peoples signatures just pisses me off...

Can you PM me names of the people who's signatures you can't see? That way I can check all the sizes and we'll make a width limit. Because I don't have a problem with signatures, they all show up for me, but mine is a widescreen so it'd be different.

Re: Signature Rule Changes.
Not a rule, but guys, it's kind of pereferable that your signatures at least attempt IAR's background colour. If you need help, feel free to pm me; I'll explain how to do it and if you're confused I can just fix things up for you.Eyelash Wishes wrote:

Even if they're white, thats okay, but other things look kind of tacky. Although that's just my opinion

I hope this helps...
If it's confusing, here's a link to a template with the background color already in it. Just resize it to what you want and make your text, etc. (:
