Signature Rules
I'd just like to remind you guys what our signature rules are, seeing as a lot of people seem to be unsure.
Image signatures must:
1. Be 200px or under in height
2. Be under 100 KB in size
3. Be a still image, NOT a moving GIF
4. Contain only text. For example, an image such as this is okay, but an image such as this is not allowed.
I know we're a little strict with the whole 'images in images' thing, but I'll just explain reasoning. If someone has a small picture, sure, it's not that big a deal, it won't affect the size of the signature, etc. But we have to maintain these rules exactly as they're written, because if one thing is okay, then why isn't another?
If a small, monochromatic image is okay, who says a photograph isn't? Who says that photograph won't be triggery or offensive? Who says even a small, monochromatic image isn't offensive? Not only this, but image sizes creep up without us noticing, and whilst it's nothing for most of us with broadband, many users, as well as IAR's administrators also access the site from out mobile phones, and large images (be it file size or actual size) make this extremely difficult.
Originally we weren't even going to allow images in signatures on IAR, so given that we've gone lax on that, we'd like you to obey the rules we do have. It's really that we just have to stick within the boundaries we've created. Small things lead to small things lead to bigger things, and we don't want to domino-effect into chaos, do we? (:

Waitwaitwait, Mikey.
You know the signatures I usually have, with text filled IN with images?
Is that still allowed?

Re: Signature Rules
Your signature was over 200px in height. All you have to do is resize the image and you're good to go (:
Re: Signature Rules
Thank you, was it removed or soemthing (it dosnt show up anymore) if i upload the resized will it show?
Re: Signature Rules
Are signature background allowed to be any colour other than the background colour of IAR? And I don't mean when people have white and it stands out.
I mean is it allowed to have, say a black or blue background colour?

Re: Signature Rules
We'd prefer not, mainly for the same reason as pictures; if someone sees something and thinks it's okay they might change it and then someone else might change it, etcetc.
Plus, it keeps the site looking neater.

Re: Signature Rules
does that mean we're not allowed to have transparent backgrounds? i've found that it can be way easier than remembering the colour code of the forum...
plus, when/if you change it, i won't have to switch all my signatures! :D
but yeah, is that okay?
